Hey everyone. For those that sent their final package (passport copies, annex a etc.) to Ottawa from within Canada - were you able to use Xpresspost prepaid envelopes with no issues?

I was just at the Post Office and the lady was telling me that Xpresspost prepaid envelopes can't be sent to PO Boxes. So I just purchased one prepaid envelope for the COPR for now and will go back this afternoon when I figure out how to send the entire package.

No problems at all. I purchased two prepaid Xpresspost National envelopes at the same time. The lady behind the counter said she was very familiar with the process, and helped me with getting everything filled out and in the right place.

It's Canada Post. Mail. To/From Post offices. Post Office Boxes. Geez.... LOL!! :D :D :D

No issues here. We went to a Shoppers Drug Mart in the city because the local post office where we are would have added another day to the delivery.

I remembered that you used Xpresspost so I figured there shouldn't be any issues. Thank you!!!!

That's what I was saying to the lady too! But of course I took her word for it as she's the one that works at the post office. Guess I'm going back later and using it anyway!

Got my passport request Tuesday night at 10pm Michigan time. Had one ridiculous trying to send it to Ottawa with a USA mailing address. The post office was absolutely incompetent as to how to send a FedEx package overnight to Ottawa and have a self addressed and stamped envelope covered so they could send it back because we don't know what the weight will be coming back and they would have to sign and date it. They kept insisting I send them a check for the cost so they could send it back and I told them 3-4 times this is a government agency and didn't work that way. Tried to get info from UPS and they too said they couldn't do it. Finally I went to the main FedEx store not attached to USPS (it was open till 12am thank goodness) and they were able to set up an account and put post it notes on the form for them to sign and date and when they drop off to send my account number is on it and it will be billed and tracked and sent to my email, I am praying this will all work out. I sent it last night around 8pm and it arrived and was signed for in Ottawa at 11:43am by a T. Godin. Here is to hoping!

I sent everything to Ottawa with the prepaid Xpresspost envelope two weeks ago. Just received CoPR in the mail today. YIPEE!

You have to use the Xpresspost prepaid envelope, and it's for RETURN envelope, so it will be sent to your address (which is probably not PO Boxes right? Because you can't use PO Boxes for the PR application.

To send the package, they don't specify, so I think you can use anything, you can use your own envelope, Xpresspost or you can use the one-day Priority envelope if you want to.

It looks like a good list of items.

I noticed you posted this in several threads on this forum, most unrelated to your question. You will find it more effective to post once in an appropriate thread, and wait for an answer. Spamming the forum to get attention or faster answers isn't always appreciated. Although we're very happy to help others, this isn't our full-time job. Thanks!!

I already replied earlier but for some reason it doesn't show.
I said thanks for your response.

And thanks for the advice, but I wasn't spamming or trying to annoy anyone. I needed urgent help, and by urgent I mean I had 5 hours to get it right before I send my documents off. If you didn't want to reply, you did not have to. Thanks anyways. Was not trying to annoy anyone.

Do you know how long it takes after documents are sent for them to look at them once again ? Because I'm worried its going to take a while. The only thing is, the next day it changed to Background in Process. Or technically the same day I sent the documents.

I don't think this is related to your medical. Also I believe they are optional, see this:

Yeah I was referring to the big envelope containing the return envelope. I ended up using Xpresspost and it will get to Ottawa on Monday. Now the wait for COPR begins!

Just out of curiousity has anyone gotten their original application package back after all is said and done? I sent original pictures and while I don't need them back, I was just curious whether anyone else received theirs later on.

Unfortunately not you will not get anything back from the original application.
