Yeah, we know we have to use Canada Post for the return part, we were already planning on that. I was wondering about for actually sending it to CPC Ottawa though. If we have to use Canada Post for that part as well that's not a huge problem or anything, but it would slow us down by possibly a day, which could shift our entire moving plan by a weekend. I prefer to pay as little in prorated rent as I possibly can. ;)

Just wondering what service you ended up using to send the entire package to CPC Ottawa? I'm thinking of going with a Canada Post prepaid Priority shipping envelope.

It was an Xpresspost Prepaid Letter envelope. It was $13.65 plus signature for an extra $1.50.

Hey guys, I'm a bit embarrassed to share this update, but if it happened to me it could happen to others: received DM on Feb 7th and have been waiting for my PPR. Saw that others got their emails last night so I decided to call CIC today - as I was about to punch in my application number, I searched "CIC" in my Gmail. Alas: I received PPR on Feb 15th, and it got auto-sorted into my "Promotions" tab on Gmail. I have been religiously checking my regular email up until, which is where all previous CIC emails have gone. This particular one, for whatever reason, got sorted out as an advertisement!

Gmail users - check your spam and promotion folders, just in case.

Sent in my docs and pre-paid envelope this morning. Lost a week on this, which sucks because my work permit is expiring in two weeks - however, fingers crossed I get everything back in time.

Hey, it can happen to anybody! Glad you found it and shared with all of us so we're aware. On our end, all the correspondence was coming to my e-mail address (I'm the sponsor) and the only e-mail my husband (the applicant) got was the final PPR e-mail.

Hi,
do you guys have any idea how long the return of a passport takes from Ottawa? I sent mine on the 13th of February and it reached Ottawa the next day. I have a polish passport.

it can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks. it depends on where it is being mailed to.

Thank you for your quick response.
I mailed it to Ottawa.

no, i mean it depends on where it's being mailed to FROM ottawa. Meaning, where the PR applicant asked it to be mailed to.

Edmonton in Alberta so within Canada.

great, that doesn't change the fact it can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to receive a passport back from ottawa. obviously it will take longer when it has further to travel in the mail. there's no way to tell you exactly how long it will take in your situation. information presented on this forum is best estimates based on what others have experienced.

Hello Everyone.

We submitted our application on November 15th.
Today, February 22nd, we got a request for additional information on proof of sponsors intent to return to Canada.
I am sending them a response tomorrow, February 23rd.

I have a large list of things I am sending in order to suffice their request :

Quote from letter I am sending :
I have attached the following documents/information with this package:
1. Scanned copy of my Alberta Identification/Driver’s License (residence proof)
2. Scanned copy of my Alberta HealthCare Card
3. Letter from me
4. Letter from my parents residing in Edmonton, Canada
5. Letter from my grandparents residing in Edmonton, Canada
6. Registration and proof of ownership of vehicle I own in Edmonton, Canada
7. Screenshot of my college courses for the 2015/2016 years (education proof)
8. Screenshot of my E-letters from my college
9. Screenshot of emails with my college from June 2016
10. Screenshot of my bank account
11. Screenshots of Facebook and Google Hangouts messages from friends and family talking about my long awaited return
12. Screenshots of my husband’s ESL program he wishes to take upon arrival
13. Screenshots of my husband’s Mechanical Engineering program he wishes to take after ESL courses
14. This letter from me describing our plans upon arrival

Does this seem like enough ?
And does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes after they recieve these documents ?
Just approximate time or any idea at all of what is happening after I send these? What are the next steps ?
Please help !

It looks like a good list of items.

I noticed you posted this in several threads on this forum, most unrelated to your question. You will find it more effective to post once in an appropriate thread, and wait for an answer. Spamming the forum to get attention or faster answers isn't always appreciated. Although we're very happy to help others, this isn't our full-time job. Thanks!!
