Hey guys, confusing -- which form do I use for goods imported at landing and which form for goods to follow..?

you use the same form for both lists, form BSF186. so if you are declaring items at landing and goods to follow, you need 2 copies of the form. there is a box to tick to identify the list as "goods to follow". The BSF186a form is a supplemental form only used if you need more room to list your items.

Landing was straightforward at the Pacific Highway POE.

They didn't even look through the U-Haul.

They told my husband when he travels with me I am his "little piece of Canada". hehe. blushing.

Feels SO good to have everything including moving done and done.

Time to relax...until we line up at Services Canada, Driver's services, banks, medicare, employers, etc. etc. etc.

Ah life. This forum has been amazing and if anyone wants to get a hold of me just PM. Thanks SO MUCH to the August crew, with special thanks to knowledge101 and Stevin. You guys kept me sane and on track.

Same with me.. perhaps there is a bottleneck somewhere in it's processing. Ours is uncomplicated in China with no outside countries to investigate.
Good luck...

I'd like to share the status of my application, eCAS - no updates yet, for MyCIC - my Background Check - In Progress, just now! Probably this morning! No emails yet or anything, I just hope this is a very good sign. For my co-August applicants waiting for updates, please check your status! Good luck to all of us... :D :D :D

TD, State Farm, and Esurance Canada also cover US titled/registered cars in Canada.

Yes, there are at least a couple companies we found that insure US titled/registered vehicles. Don't have the list on me, though.

wow, this must be province specific because that sort of thing is unheard of in ontario. in ontario, the car can't be registered without being insured, and the car can't be insured without an ontario driver's license and proof of import/inspection. US insurance companies will drop insurance if they find out the car is in canada long term.
