You are right, my COPR has the Condition 51. I am not too concern about this. My partner and I have been living together for almost 3 years now. I was just confused, I thought I didn't fall under it as I thought the first year living together is counted.

Now if I read it again from the website, it says, "...if you have been in a relationship of two years or less..." So the common-law "relationship" starts after living together for 1 year.

Thanks for bringing it up though, I'll be less shocked when I see it on ours.

Ahh, if that how they count it, it makes more sense now.
Thanks for finding the info for me. Could you please give me the link to the thread? I tried looking it up but can't find it.

There you go:

I never really thought about how it's calculated because I know I'm going to have it. I wouldn't have thought it was calculated that way either. It makes sense in a way, because common-law is the equivalent of marriage, and it applies to couples who've been married two years or less.

Glad we all learn something from this. Thank you for finding the answer!

Yes I can! Still have to get used to not having to log onto MyCIC anymore. Lol. Good luck with the landing. We will do ours on Feb 15. Still waiting on some docs to formally export/import car.

All the best!

Work days is approaching fast... Good luck August applicants, wish us all a great update this week... Monday it is... :D :D :D

What's up with yours?? What's your timeline like?

App receive Aug 19th, medical passed and background check in progress as of Dec 22 and there was also a request for additional docs (proof of ongoing cohabitation and a resubmitted sponsor declaration from my partner) that same day which I submitted on Dec 23rd. No movement since, though I did call to confirm receipt of my documents last week and they said that "documents have been verified" and I should be hearing in the "coming weeks".

Such vagueness! My anxiety is mainly rooted in my job situation - living/working in Canada already, and my non-renewable work permit expires in mid-March. I'm down to the wire...

My app has been in progress for quite some time now and still at "In Process" stage. I have an extremely straight forward case, married, only lived in one place, medicals up front and passed, no criminal record at all, only ever visited Canada, no children, no prior marriages, no group affiliations. Called CiC a few times and they keep saying we are just waiting for final approval and we should hear something soon, that was two weeks ago. Im happy to see everyone else getting their COPR but after living apart from my wife for over a year now I am beyond ready to see some good news. So extremely frustrating.

Hi everyone,

I just logged in to check on my application and it says "DECISION MADE" !!! But when I click on it, there's no further info. It simply shows:

1. Application received August 31, 2016
2. Started processing October 3, 2016
3. Medical results have been received

Has anyone seen this before? Just wondering when we can expect to hear more details regarding the decision made.

Thanks so much!

What happens next seems to rely on your visa office. At this point, be looking for either an email from CIC with a PPR, or your mail for your CoPR.

Thank you, Omegabyte! The visa office was Ottawa.

Most likely then will be an email. It will request a copy of your passport photo/signature page, two photos, the last page of the email printed and filled out (called Annex A), and a prepaid courier or Xpresspost envelope. All this is sent to Ottawa to process your CoPR. Instructions will be in the email.

BTW, congratulations!! I'm in roughly the same time frame as you, so I hope to hear good news soon!

I posted about this in the September thread but haven't gotten a reply so I'll ask here too, what kind of envelopes are you guys sending/have you guys sent for the COPR to be sent back? We bought the appropriate stamps for a regular envelope but aren't sure if that's good enough. Our office is Ottawa, for the record.

Pahaha. Yeah, I made a mad dash for ECAS after seeing their post. I'm hoping that means they're culling through the recent background checks to dole out DMs.
