Love love love your idea for a new thread. Like, what now, after CoPR. My fiancée has been in Canada with me since Aug 2015. Resumes have already been flying, he wants to work asap. We have to flagpole and export/import vehicle next week hopefully. The whole insurance thing was fun as we (for a week) could not get a Canadian insurance company to cover him since geico dropped him. Got that sorted. The company that he is financed through for the car won't release a letter of export till proof of insurance which we just obtained today. Hopefully CoPR sometime next week. Eeeeeee. Hang in there!

Let me know how this goes! Maybe we can save that for the new thread :)

Happy to say we have VOH! W00 hoo!

Congrats Bassix!

And OMG - This vehicle Export/Import thing is becoming a total nightmare! Seems like everytime I call RIV I get conflicting information. Last time I called about the 72 hour stay in the USA before export, I was told that I was mistaken and that all they need is 72 hours notice. Now I am being told that the vehicle has to remain in the on US soil for 72 hours. what the hell am I gonna do in Montana for 72 hours? Uuuugh. And the Whitlash customs office is now saying that because there is still a loan on the vehicle we need a "certified screen print" from the DMV! What? I knew that we needed the authorization from the lender but now a certified screen print?

Seems like everytime I call I get new/different information. The last thing I want is to drive 6hrs only to get there and find out we forgot to do something. Anyone else wanna weigh in on this?

I've decided not to even try. I tried following the steps on another post here on the Forum, and reached a standstill at trying to get a tax ID number to use on the US export website. Thankfully I own my car free and clear, so I'll just sell it back in Spokane later this summer. Wife and I already found another car up here (a 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. Vroom-vroom!! ;D ), and TD was kind enough to finance me with the wife as co-buyer.

I am so so excited for you.

Just a quick update about the car scenario:
RIV said that the vehicle has to be in the US for 72 hours (On US soil). But I just called the US border that we will be visiting and they confirmed for me that "NO, they only require 72 hours notice before arriving, and the vehicle does NOT need to be on US soil for 72 hours".

Whew. I will be requesting that confirmation via email when I send them the Docs incase I get hassled about that.

All the best to everyone.

Well, some good news...

Received my GCMS notes requested back on Jan 3. They were generated Jan 12. Last entry is on Jan 11. Notes show it's gone up for officer review on that day. Whoever did eligibility review states they're satisfied it's a genuine relationship. My original FBI report shows an arrest, but it was a mistake and was expunged. I sent them a new copy of my FBI report showing that it's clear now, but there's plenty of notes about it. At least I know they received the new one.

Since then, background check went "In Progress", so the officer review must have gone OK? Here's hoping the FBI report stuff doesn't cause a hangup.

I have an alert tone on my iPhone for CIC email. Got all excited that I had the DM email, until I started reading it further. Oh well. My wife says it was a dress rehersal for the real thing. Hopefully I'll see that soon?

I forgot to write down the tracking for my prepaid envelope and its not on my receipt! :( :( :( :(

Might be better not be able to check at all. I have been checking, no information shows up on the tracking code, seems like that they haven't sent it back :( :(

Have you considered it might be lost?

After 10 months of hearing nothing , we got an email from our lawyer on January 11th stating that our application is in Rome and placed in queue for scheduling of Interview , also Email from Rome states that the interview will be on their next visit to Malta , But no known date of such trip is available, Is the Interview for both of us or Just My Husband ? We are living together and have been for over three years now , I'm just wondering if it's for both of us or just him Thanks

Congrats! Wow that's a long time to get through immigration! We're also going to Vancouver island but planned on staying in Vancouver overnight just because I wasn't sure how long everything would take once we landed. Sounds like it can take quite a while...

I think it's too soon to assume that, I will see how it's gonna be this week.
