Sorry, I'm not from the Philippines, so I don't understand what you asked I'm Canadian and I'm sponsoring my Korean husband but our visa office is Manila.

So.. if you are planning to land in Quebec and applying for CSQ, it appears that the copy that is meant to be forwarded to CIC must ALWAYS be, regardless of whether the VO receives a copy directly or not.

Postscript: While writing, I peeked (yet again) at MyCIC and suddenly find the Background Check "In Progress"...

Hi Grizzlyman. As a fellow member sponsoring through Quebec, thank you so much for that advice! I'll definitely be sending a copy of the CSQ myself to my VO as soon as I get it.

During your experience, did you hear anything from MIDI regarding their "working with the IRCC" to process PR applications without delay? I submitted my CSQ request to them in early November 2016 and have been keeping an eye on their site ever since, and this statement made me curious about if IRCC will actually wait for the CSQ to begin processing my PR app;

"Since the Ministère is working with the IRCC to ensure that these files are processed, there will not be any additional delays in issuing permanent residence visas to sponsored persons. Steps have also been taken to ensure that the parties involved do not have to be concerned about the date of issue of their Certificat de sélection du Québec. The Ministère will look after this in concert with the IRCC."

I'm pretty sure that statement has been on their "Apply to sponsor a close relative" page since I submitted my request, but from what you say, I'm very unsure how they intend for there to be "no additional delays" of the PR visas, because it sounds very much like the IRCC was waiting for the CSQ before they started the next step.

Let me know if you have any insight or thoughts about this. The waiting is very difficult, but it's so nice to have people here who share my experience and can give such valuable feedback.

You are most welcome. I often wonder just how few others are entering through Quebec with a CSQ as it tends to be quite difficult to find information or read up on anyone else's experience.

I never actually "heard" anything from them in this regard, and am familiar with the website info that you are referring to.
I was worrying about the same thing until I noticed my Background Check bump to "in progress" but then of course, should the IRCC conclude the application and be ready to request our passports I'm sure they will have to hold off until the document is received.

I'm particularly worried about the 8-10 weeks snail mail delivery time they quoted... that's crazy long! Especially in China where regular post is far from trustworthy.
