For all those waiting for updates on background check (including me) don't get too excited until after the new years. I strongly believe that quota's for the year have been met so there won't be any more approvals until the next year. This is because they probably fill their quota's before the year ends to make sure it is met but they cannot approve anything after. So we likely won't see any new Decision Made's until next week sometime. But the good news is we might see them more rapidly after the new year so I'll be waiting patiently till next week with all of you! Happy New Year!

Soooooo.... I inquired with Canada Customs regarding importing my partners vehicle. We ended up getting on the topic of "flag-polling" and she was telling me that it's not enough to just go to the boarder as that is a "neutral zone" that we actually have to leave the neutral zone and be in US before returning. Huh? How have I never heard of this? Anyone wanna weigh in on this and help me out? Thank you.

does that mean that they have reached their approval Quota for the year , or just the Quota for applications in general ?

Good morning all!
I just received email from VO Ottawa this morning!
Basically I made honest mistake on my timeline (I met my husband Dec 2013 and started living together Dec 2014 but I wrote both 2014 lol) so I just need to explain it and send email back!
I am surprised that they are working actually :o
I just thought let you guys know!
This is first time I hear from them after SA which was 9/15!
Have a great day all :)

Well maybe I misunderstood but the way I always thought of flagpolling is you actually have to enter the US and then turn around and go back through Canadian immigration. But your intention of entering is simply to flag poll which is what you'd tell the US immigration. As for me I'll have to do it in reverse as we are not moving to Canada until the summer.

Well maybe I'm misunderstood since reading your response. I thought Flag-polling was just going to the border. I'm gonna have to do some more research!!

Hello everyone!! Happy new year!!!

Landed CA last Nov 28, got my PR card Dec 16. Went home Dec 20.
And now, perfect timing my mom got her TRV. The purpose is she will be the one to accompany the kids to travel because I thought it will take long to get my PR card.
We already booked our ticket for Jan18 flight back to CA.
My question, ... my kids and mom, will have their immigration's point of entry in Calgary is it possible?
Flight is Manila -Tokyo -Calgary.

Thank you.

Not really. Had my PR way back 2013 but I was not able to land and expired. Then we apply again this year.. ive included in our application package copy our old COPR and Visa with letter of explanation why.
