MY first post but have been lurking for a while now and have very much appreciated all the information found here.
Wondering how efficient/quick the Paris office moves since it is processing for countries other than France...My country's estimated time frame is only 8 months, relatively short compared to most other places, however things seem to be moving pretty fast for people with much longer time estimates so it's anyone's guess. Anyone else being processed in Paris or know anything about this?

Hmm, I am in Ontario so we don't have this extra requirement and I don't know anything about it but I found this thread, although it's probably a little outdated: canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/qsw-but-want-to-move-to-toronto-t100167.0.html

Maybe if you post there you might get a helpful person to respond?

It seems that things could be more complicated if you try to change it at this stage for the sake of eliminating the CSQ...Your application is probably in a different processing stream for the Quebec applicants and doing so could possibly make things take even longer than if you just continue on as you are. You could call CIC and ask directly, which you may or may not want to do as they will ask for your info before they will tell you anything. Maybe you can squeeze some free info from an immigration consultant if you call up a few to try and ask if its even possible to do such a thing?

In any case good luck

You haven't even gotten SA yet? It's far over your processing time for that, you should give CIC a call. Maybe they have the wrong email address or forgot to send you one.

Good luck to you, I hope you see some progress soon.

Yes. Yes. I wanna cry. :'(

Unfortunately comparing your case to others will drive you crazy. Every officer and application is different so these things go on a case by case basis. Try not to worry too much, your time will come!

After crying a while ago, BC is now in progress! I can't believe it! I have no update in my email. So check your MY CIC guys! God Bless Us all!!!

Hey,

I am stucked in an unexpectedly horrible situation. i applied to sponsor my spouse. They refused my sponsorship stating i didnot declare my marriage during processing of my permanent residence application. However i did notify both offices twice regarding my marriage. Also since i selected to continue processing of my application even if i cannot sponsor thereby they are continuing the Spouse evaluation (Part II).

I have email communication as evidence that i notified them of my marriage. But i dont know how to resolve this. I send a case specific enquiry with attached evidences. Please advice if anyone faced this situation and how can i handle it. >:( >:( >:( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Notify CIC by email regarding your marriage is not enough. You should have amended your application to include your spouse. Your spouse had to have a medical exam as part of your application process. I think the best course of action for you is to consult an immigration lawyer.

Background Check - Still in process!

It's taking what seems like forever!

Hang in there! I personally am giving it at least 4 weeks before I get anxious. I've seen it take 4+ weeks for many people so I'm not expecting any miracles!
