Does anyone have that link to that really helpful page on how to do this? I would help you out but we have a lawyer/representative so we can't register for ECAS, so I don't know how to link the app. :(
"
to go with an an account you should open one with "MyCic" here is the link for and clic on "continue GCkey" and you have only to follow the intructions
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp

now for eCASE you dont need any account it's just an online check up applications that already cic has had in their system, i guess like you
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp?

YOU HAVE TO ENTER SPONSORED'S INFORMATIONS AND OWN UIC number

Thank you for that information but how would you know if my application is already on the back ground check stage? is asking additional documents part of it?

Hi there! I think what you're asking if how will you know if your Backround Check is already in process, right?

You have 2 ways on how to check your application status. First is myCIC -- this is where you have to link your application and second is ECAS. I was able to see that my background check is in process through myCIC. In my case, when I've noticed that my husband's background check was changed to In Process, the next day he got the passport request email.

Hope this helps and hope I was able to answer your question based on my understanding.

Yes, I too have been following the July thread. I am seriously going nuts over here checking my status, I need to CTFD!! Haha I need patience. Still crossing my fingers for you!

CTFD, I'm going to take that very good advice...

This forum is great for my obsessiveness, I need to get it out once a day on here, but I'm limiting checking ecas and myCIC to Mondays only...

I'm a month behind you and will be so jazzed when you're screaming with joy on this thread with a COPR in your hands, some month soon

Congratultions! So happy for you guys who are getting their PPRs. We're next in line! ;D
Thank you, wish you good news soon

Hi I have few questions. How can we send/request to expedite our case? Can we do that even if we are only waiting for IP in BC or PPR? Please walk me through, I'm not sure if we have what it takes to request so

We applied for conjugal sponsorship and have many complications regarding our status. We've been together for almost 4yrs now, can't marry here bec I'm still married with my ex (abandoned). I have 2 kids from ex, declared in the app but not accompanying. Now, my 3rd baby is with my current partner's, she just turned 1 last Oct. He declared our child as his dependent on our app but not in any record/file/status in Canada like in his employment/gov't records. Reason to which is bec our child's birth certificate was registered illegitimate under my last name, although he swore under oath the paternity and use of last name after she was born, some Philippine lawyers said I can't name our child under his bec he is not present here and that his affidavit still needs some authentication or the like.

We are a bit confused whether we should just wait for our app to be approved and change/work on legalities when we get to Canada. But we can't help but worry that it might cause delays on our app, too. Is there any way we can request a faster processing so we can have each and every legalities finalized?? Not to mention, we have plans to get married right away once I get divorced in Canada... Any suggestions please. Thank you :)

Awesome... we are still waiting for Quebec...
I expect ours will bump to Background check: in progress almost immediately after.

If your file number from MyCIC is in the XFxxxxx format, which is a temp file holder, then you will not be able to check your status using eCASE. You need to wait for AOR1 and then use the sponsor UCI to access eCASE.

BINGO!
you just saved my time. thks

Good call on only checking weekly. Getting super antsy. I'll let you know as soon as there's movement.

For Quebec applicants (including me) the web site of Quebec's Immigration Ministry states that they are currently processing sponsorship requests received on August 9th.
This info can be found here: immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/immigrer-installer/parrains-parraines/
It allows us to know approximately how long it will take before our request is processed.
Mine was received mid-October.

Congrats to everyone with PPR !!!

Cheers!

yes 9 august that's what they announce, but i know some people who have had already their CSQ and their application was received after 15 th august... it's a good news... they give late date for not being bothered by phones calls; it's their strategy
