Congratulations to Everyone who has been receiving their PPR.
Has anyone heard from the Ottawa office? Have they sent AOR2 to anyone?

Some visa offices work extremely fast, others not so much lol.

My VO is Ottawa and still my background is NOT started..! Be patient...))

PPR for my husband just now!! Woohoo!! Thank you Lord!! Praise God!!! ☺️

Congratulations for that great news!!!! I almost have the same time line with you. hoping that mine will come soon!
just a quick question, what do you mean when you said in you timeline " background check in progress"?

Looking forward hearing from you about this matter..

Question for Manila applicants: what is the average processing times for your applications based on others who have been approved? (using cases from your VO specific forum only, not the CIC processing times site). Just curious. Thanks! :)

Background check in progress means they are on the last part of your application, and you should expect PPR soon ish after. The background check is the last thing that they look at before they provide a decision. Hope that helps.

Philippines' processing times is 12 Months. But other applicants (depending on how fast the Visa Officer works) were approved an an average of 5-6 momths. Then when you have special case (example, you sent a letter asking to expedite your application because you're about to give birth, or you had Temporary Residence Visa) its like about 3 months only.

Oh ok, that's interesting, thanks for the insight dyanaraloconsay. :)
I've definitely toned down my obsessive compulsive desire to check myCIC everyday and creep the forums, but this waiting game sucks. I think too because it's the end of the year and things are slowing down, it's really hard to anticipate what will happen in the new year, if things will move quickly or drag on from there. Oh well, out of my control... I've still got a way to go before I fully stop checking for updates daily! :)

Thank you for that information but how would you know if my application is already on the back ground check stage? is asking additional documents part of it?

It would say Background Check In Progress. And they won't always ask for additional documents. If everything you sent in they are satisfied with, you won't get a request for additional documents. From what I've witnessed on this forum from my time on here, and the obsessive stalking I did for months upon months before we applied (haha) it truly is just a waiting game. You're application could be In Process for months and months with zero updates (and CIC really doesn't send you many updates at all to begin with) and then all of sudden get your PPR request.

Does anyone have that link to that really helpful page on how to do this? I would help you out but we have a lawyer/representative so we can't register for ECAS, so I don't know how to link the app. :(

If your file number from MyCIC is in the XFxxxxx format, which is a temp file holder, then you will not be able to check your status using eCASE. You need to wait for AOR1 and then use the sponsor UCI to access eCASE.
