Hi Marlg,

We're living together in Benghazi, Libya. I'm a Canadian citizen and I've been living in Libya since 2006. I applied August 4, 2016, got my SA Sept 2, 2016. File was transferred to Paris. Sept. 19 I recieved AOR 2. Today we received the PR approval! I don't know why it was so fast, the CIC website says it takes 15 months for Paris office; not sure why it only took 3 months for us. Maybe because I mentioned Benghazi is not safe and we're trying to find a safe place to raise our 2 children (both born in Libya, but are already Canadian citizens).

I do hope for you that this is not an exception, and that most applications will be processed quickly. Good luck to you and your husband.

I am doing my best not to get discouraged by the obvious slow down. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the progress of our application...when there is some progress. Best of luck to you.

Congrats to all those who have been approved thus far! Looking forward to more messages about those being approved. Currently at day 83 since application was received. Hope to hear something soon. Before Xmas would be ideal!

I was curious to see what they had to say if anything about my wife's proof of intent to return. It didn't say anything other than the VO will have to review it for us.

First of all i didnt knew how to post so I just went to "quote"
I used a lawyer to send my application to make everything easier wich i kind of regret now cause I feel that he took to long to send it. And everytime i call him he just say that there is nothing to do but wait,
So a little about myself im from mexico living in the usa my wife is canadian born living in canada, we have a child together, so she is sponsoring me,
Lawyer sent application August 15, we got an email saying that application got received august 23. And thats it no more news.
I got a UCI# and a Application number, but everytime i go to the CIC Canada site and put those numbers nothing comes up.
How long should it take for next step

As an American I have to say I am so glad I beat the rush to immigrate 4 months ago....apparently CIC was down all night because of this as was Canadavisa haha Well at least now I have a good evidence of intent! ;D

Agreed. Glad we beat the rush. However I think it's just a lot of talk. They talk like anyone can just pick up and move here. Ask anyone of us - not that simple.

First correspondence from Manila VO in awhile...
They are asking for my husband's Korea Military Service Certificate (military service is mandatory in Korea for males). Luckily we can get it easily and send it right off by e-mail. I'm happy to know they are actually working on our application! I'm dying to know how long before we get accepted.
