Hi everyone,

Great news! My wife just got an email telling her the PR visa is ready to be issued!!!

It's taken just over 3 months for SA and PR!!! I'm from Libya and our file is sent to PARIS office, which says it should take 15 months! I can't believe it, a whole year earlier!

We now have to head to the Canadian embassy in Tunisia or the VAC in Tunis (since no VAC or embassy is open in Libya). When issuing the visa, do we have to submit the passport and come back for it another day? Or is it just a sticker that they put in the passport and I get it right away?

Just got back my ATIP notes that I requested about 4 weeks ago. So apparently there has been no work on my application since August when it was transferred over to Ottawa. Most likely it probably is just sitting in a queue...

Noooooooo.....Ugh. Sorry for your disheartening news. We applied at the same time and got transferred at the same time so I can pretty much assume the same for myself. So sorry Knowledge101.

If it helps keep spirits high I requested ATIP October 6th and so the report could have been generated then even though I just received it today so its possible something happened in those last 4 weeks. Also, I'm not 100% sure if notes will show any updates. I mean the stuff it said was pretty much the same stuff you can find on MyCIC/ECAS.

Congrats !!! That was really fast, Our Application is also in Paris my husband is from Libya , we reside in Malta right now though .... may I ask if you and your wife are together and if so !in Canada ...Our application has been in process since March 15th 2016 , with no update

We're living together in Benghazi, Libya. I'm a Canadian citizen and I've been living in Libya since 2006. I applied August 4, 2016, got my SA Sept 2, 2016. File was transferred to Paris. Sept. 19 I recieved AOR 2. Today we received the PR approval! I don't know why it was so fast, the CIC website says it takes 15 months for Paris office; not sure why it only took 3 months for us. Maybe because I mentioned Benghazi is not safe and we're trying to find a safe place to raise our 2 children (both born in Libya, but are already Canadian citizens).

I do hope for you that this is not an exception, and that most applications will be processed quickly. Good luck to you and your husband.
