Awww, thank you so much for that wonderful message. I am really down right now, been thinking what went wrong or is there anything wrong? Our application is way straight forward and would be very glad to see an update from eCAS or MyCIC. Our Visa Office is working perfectly for some of August applicants, how I wish to see ours, too moving... Thank you and good luck to you and to everyone waiting...

That's a tough one. I imagine they want court records or the police report for whatever is on the FBI certificate so they can see it in detail. Unfortunately yes you'll have to contact the court/police jurisdiction for which the charges were filed and ask them for the documents and ask if it can be expedited for a fee as you need them for immigration purposes and have a 45 day deadline. I think it can be done, act quickly!

Sounds fun. Unfortunately they are closed until Tuesday but I still have a family member there that can help me with it I guess.

Does decision made mean a good thing?

Congrats and Finally! Yes that's a good thing. I got DM on jan.10 then PPR on jan.12, expect yours on monday or within a week.

Just got this message in myCIC.

"Court record / Police report: Provide a copy of the original police report or court records

So does this mean they want actual court records and not just the FBI certificate on something dating back 12+ years? I've tried calling today but they are always too busy to actually connect me to a person. And also have to somehow manage to get them delivered to me in Canada and then shipped to them within 45 days?

Did you include any court documents related to the FBI certificate when you sent in the entire application package? My husband has a charge over 10 years ago (he was still considered a juvenile) that was dropped but still shows up on his FBI certificate. We included the FBI check plus all the court records about what happened and probation records showing that it was dropped. I'm hoping we don't get the same message you got

Just to keep the January train rolling, my background check was changed to In Progress today on mycic. First movement since September so that's exciting.

The problem is there is no standards for how the codes are reported. Because they're internal codes that we request under the Freedom of Information Act (ATIP), they don't need to by law decode them for us. I would suggest you post your question under the main forum because I doubt many in this thread are experienced enough with the codes to help you. Sorry

Now you wait. It's the final step. You can get your DM/PPR anywhere from 1 - 8 weeks. For a lot of us who just got a DM we have been in background check in-process since Mid-November. But keep in mind that was towards the end of the year, hopefully things are faster now that we are in January.

What concern me is that normally changes is updated on MyCIC first and then in ECAS. In addition, when I check the PR Application Status in ECAS, the information shown is the same for the last two months. I am worried that there is a glitch in ECAS and it is giving all of us erroneous information.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it being a mistake. It's almost right on schedule.
