Hello august Ottawa VO applicants, are you all in background check? Any decisions, there aren't any listed on your spreadsheet....September folks are curious about your timelines...

also, if you're in background check, can you say if you had a straightforward case?

I'm Ottawa VO applicant and my background is in progress from a week ago.
We got married in this summer in Vancouver but lived a year together in New Zealand. (so I included NZ police check)
I hope I hear something soon

My Background check has been in process for about 30 days as well. I was hopeful for PR status before Xmas, now I am not so sure.

Hi Stevin, I submitted my application a few days before you, 5th August, and it is being processed in Ottawa. I can't link it to myCIC for some reason, so i'm stuck looking at ECAS. I was hoping to have PR by now, and it's frustrating to see September applicants have already had PR issued! I don't even know if my back ground check has started yet or not. There seems to be no logical order in which they process application..... Who knows whats going on?....

Hi dyanaralaconsay still the same since BC in Progress. I was reading Manila threads , sad to know if they already reach some quota tho. Thought we can get PPR before year end .

But thinking there are June /July applicant still waiting for PPR too.

Background check for 2 weeks now. Not really concerned as I hear the timeline for this can be 4-6 weeks these days so just going to be a bit more patient...

Our case is fairly straight forward (US Citizen, married for 5 years, no kids/dependents)

Tell me about it. The feeling of being discouraged is really putting a damper on my Christmas mood. Hope you hear soon, Stevin!

The background check timelines are curious. There has been 2 quick cases for September folks at Ottawa, with background checks in the 2-3 weeks range and total app times in the 74-78 days range. Cheers to them and may our VO officers think of giving us happy holidays
