Hello August Applicants! :D Any status updates on your application... I am very excited to send the additional documents needed, just that AOM is taking much of my time, it'll take about a week to release my request and so unfortunate that it is going to be a looooooooong weekend in the PH. Probably will get my AOM on Wednesday! I will send it right away. Good luck everyone and Happy Halloween! :-X :-X :-X

Hi! I am a newbie here, aug 2016 applicant (I think...) My partner received an AOR1 last oct24 (again, I think that's what it is...). It says he is eligible to sponsor and that my app was already sent to Manila VO. Since I just started searching and reading over and over again about almost ANYTHING regarding our app, I always end up finding helpful tips and info in this forum. Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm writing down my notes right... And seeking for more tips or same stories regarding our case.

Accdg to my partner's Ecas:
SPONSORSHIP App status is DM
Aug 30 - App received
Sep 27 - Processing started
Oct 24 - AOR AND/OR SA...
--- Is it possible to receive these AOR and SA at once?? This is the first and so far, only email we've received.

While, on the PR status, it says "In Process" (which was App Received 2days ago)
--- Is this supposedly an AOR2??

Explanation also says:
1. Received app Aug 30
2. Medical results have been received
---Is this bec of the upfront medical exam we took last march?

Thanks in advanced for the replies :)

Yes sometimes the official AOR email doesn't come, don't worry about it. You have SA now and your file is already being processed by your VO. Some VOs are also very bad at sending AOR2, but if your application says In Process on the principal applicant file, you can pretty much take that as a AOR2. Yep, Medical results received means they got the info from the exam. Congrats for making it this far, and good luck ;)

Omg this is such great news! Thank you so much for the quick response as well. :) :)

Hey everyone, I hope some more good news comes our way this week. :)

Just wondering, did most people hand their police check in with their app, or are you waiting until they request more docs?

In the Netherlands, where we're applying from, you can't get a police check done without an official request. So we have to wait for the request... ::)

Oh ok, that makes sense. We were able to do ours before and sent it in, but they're only good for 6 months so we assume we'll have to do another one. It's too bad they're not good for longer.

I don't think you'll have to do another one. Ours, for example, is only available for 3 months. I've been told it should be valid the moment the VO starts processing the eligibility for PR (and not even the background check).

Really?! Oh that would be wonderful! And you know what, that is starting to make sense to me now, I remember our representative saying something like that when I asked if we should do another one right before we submitted it (because at that point it was going to expire in 4 months) and she said no. Fingers crossed that's the case, because it expires at the end of November! Eek! Thanks for the advice! :D

Hi BC-girl
You are able to apply for your police check. You don't have to wait for the request. I applied for mine without the official request. What the department in NL told me to do is to send a copy of the Canadian form where they ask for the police check and fill in all the informations required then scan it in PDF format, send it to covog, and a copy of your passportpay the 46 euro and you will have it two weeks later like they did mine. Tell they you are in a hurry to have your police check and if possible to speed things up which they have done for me. Good luck

Hi Claudi12,
Thanks for the info!! Which form do you mean? The check list? I don't remember any other form...
Thanks again :)

I did send one in with the app. I figured that was best practice, send everything. BUT my background check had expired by the time they got it. I haven't heard anything back from them but I ordered another and told them that in the letter I attached. I have been in Canada the whole time since I got the background check so maybe they'll just go ahead anyway? If not, the other is on the way. Only thing I see slowing my application down. But as a general rule, I would say send everything at once, if you can.
