Hi,

So Your file was in Sydney and then was sent in Ottawa? Is that usual procedure? I thought that CIO Sydney is taking care of everything during the process.

Ottawa is responsible to make Passport Request to applicant...

In some cases, CIO takes Decision and Then they send the file to CPC ottawa and Ottawa issue the passport request, while in some complex cases, CIO could not take decion and they trasfer the file to ottawa for further processing and ottawa guys do the processing for file.


Thats all I know on the base of my Gcms notes and some of my friend's GCMs notes.

Me neither. Does not seem complex to me and don't know where is the file. Just know that process is taking too much unnecessary time, they could finish it long time ago. Still waiting for DM/PPR since 25 May.

In mY GCMS notes, there is one note: complex case - file transferred to visa office for further processing.... that means CIO didn't made decision on my application and they want ottawa to make decision.

But, a week ago a friend of mine Got PPR and his GCMS notes says that CIO took decision on his application and ottawa send PPR.


I haven't seen anyone getting PPR from CIO. Ottawa sends PPR, but I have seen CIO took Decision for some applications.

Let see... by the way you gonna get your GCMS by tomorrow or friday.. chill buddy

Do you know why would your case considered as a complex case? Do you have dependent? pnp applications doesnt seems complex to me...they should be pretty straight forward...

Maybe if you've lived in certain countries automatically trigger the case to be complex? Canada probably has arrangements with a lot of the more common countries as far as easy background checking goes, but perhaps CIO is limited with what they're able to assess? Just a possible theory...

No sure how long does it take to process a "complex" case in ottawa...

Probably not much longer, just that CIO doesn't have the resources needed so they need to hand it off to the CPC. Obviously more things to check means more time needed too.

They didn't mention anything about that.. It may be because of my wife's previous refusals..

Hi Folks, I FINALLY received DM on ECAS now eagerly waiting for PPR, fingers are crossed and will be updating tracker shortly.

Congrats to all other on landing and getting updates on their applications.

Just to update you again. I got my ppr on July 8, 2015.

I have my payment by DD through the nationalised bank (SBI bank India) which has a branch in Torento. What i heard from the bank is that the DD need to be submitted by the beneficiary to the torento branch only to get it encashed. Now i am worried if the immigration department will submit the DD from Nova scotia to the bank branch office Torento or they will return my application asking me to take a DD which can be encashed in Nova scotia itself.

Please clarify...........
