For those who submitted your application package early August, did you submit the updated IMM1344 form?

Oh no! I didn't know this form was updated! What is the difference between the new one and the old one? They look the same to me.

We just sent out our application, so I hope they will still take the old one!

Thanks Tink! I remember you We were. The VO decided that although we proved a genuine relationship we could not prove common law (which was crap). We decided to take a break from the process but actually got married this summer so we are reapplying.

The only difference is that the form has the new date.

Application is finally finished (waiting on a couple support letters to go in with the evidence is all) and my husband will be mailing it out tomorrow. PHEW!! So excited to get this thing out into the great big world and officially started!

Congrats! How do you find out when they receive it? Ours should be reaching their office tomorrow--should I keep an eye out for an email?

You won't be receiving anything until SA which means you will not receive an email from CIC for about 55 days.

The difference between the new from and the old one is their definition of the age of a child dependant goes from 22 years old to 19 years old.

Hi Leighlee, I have been monitoring the July 2014 OUTLAND applicants as well and a number of they received a request to update the forms. It is unfortunate for them since they submitted their application July 2014 and the form was updated August 2014. It seems like there is no grace period between forms even though the delay is due to the time it takes them to process the file (55 days).

I actually called customer support before sending my package, they just bluntly told me that they will most probably return the application if they find the old date at the end when they scan the application. they just added one question in one of those forms - imm0008 i believe, and thats about it and the dependants age effective to the new law.
he basically told me i can take my chances and send the old applications, and then wait 2 months, until they get to my file, and then return the package when i will have to re-do them again to submit. Another option was to fill out the new forms, email them to my hubby and have him sign and mail them back to me and i submit. even though this will take days, but will save our 2 months down the road, and i just decided to listen to him, as obviously i am at loss, if they return the application.
Submitted my application today, lets see what happens.. :-X

from what it looks like, they are returning all the ones with the old form; whether or not it applies to you..
