there are chances that it could be misplaced...by post..!

It means Acknowledgement Of Receipt....!!

It does say that NDVO is confirming that they have received your file from the CIO Sydney...

i asked this question
I received my file number on 3rd November ,2011 from CENTRALIZED INTAKE OFFICE. Application number: PPP, UCI:ZZZZ Till that I have not received any confirmation E-mail or letter (acknowledgement for application received) from New-Delhi Visa office. May I know when I will receive acknowledgement of receipt for my application?

They received my application and sent me AOR by post......

my file is in line for review and it may take 6 months ...till that they told me to do not contact them again unless they asked to do so

Yes 6 motnhs ... in my AOR as well... congrates for ur AOR... will should get MR by Feb end though... as per.. their speed.. and my obs.. lets see

i have recieved a reply from LVO stating tht they have recieved my file and placed it in the queue. no further action is required at this moment.
its a bit of a relief:)
