yep, let us keep each other posted whoever receives FN & ME first. actually now you can track your case at E-CAS on CIC website. Now the status is "Application Received".

How can you check your application status online? What identification type did you use?

client ID if you have one. (if you are studying or working in Canada, you should have one)

I sent my application to Buffalo on 31st July and did my medical exam Feb.24. My work permit is gonna be expired in July, does anyone have the same situation? Can I renew my work permit? (I am holding a open post graduation work permit)
Thanks! ;)

hello Chobee

I passed for your same situation, with the difference that my work permit expired before got the Medical request. You should renew your work permit, it is very important that you keep your status while you are in the process to get the PR. As you were approved for the AINP, you won't need a new LMO, so the process will be easier for you.

I suggest you to start the process to renew your work permit because we are not sure where exactly we will receive the PR.

I am just reading in another forum that Buffalo sent a letter to a guy requesting for proof of his status in Canada because the work permit of this guy expired in the past february (as the mine), this guy had started the process to renew one month before it expired, he is ok because he has a proof that his status is the same and he is waiting for new documents. After read about this, I will send my new work permit to buffalo, just to let them know that I have renewed my documents and I have the same status.

Hope this helps you,
Johanna

thanks so much Johanna! :)
I just got few more questions here...
what do I need to renew my work permit?
do I still get the open work permit when I renew it?
My spouse is holding a spouse work permit so can he renew it too?
Thanks!!!

Just to update, MY cashiers check was cashed in Oct 2010 and I received a Medical Request
in Feb 2011. Did my meds in March 2011 and now waiting for PPR request. Did anyone in this timeline
get the PPR yet?

Your doctor should provide you with a tracking number for Fedex or whatever service he used to send your results.

Hey PRmein: Looks like we share the same timelines. I did send my meds too around March 9, 2011 and now waiting for PPR.
I have the fedex tracking no. from my doctor, but that only tells me that My medicals have been delivered. Online status on Canada
Immigration website has still not changed after medicals. It still says that - " started processing your file in Oct .., 2010."

Is there any other way to track when we will get our PPR?

I'm in the same boat

but I don't think we are going to hear from CIC before June or July

It usually takes more than 5 months from Med to go to the next step...
