Dear PMM:

CIC Singapore office requested me to update all documents.
In that case, should photocopies of all our passports (wife, children & mine)
need to be "NOTARIZED"?

Read the instructions on visa specific guide for Singapore, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37057.pdf it says copies, not notarized copies for passports.

I think all passport photocopies need to be notarized. At the beginning of the document on page two it clearly states: "Do not send originals unless
otherwise stated. Send notarized photocopies of all documents except the police certificates, which must be originals."

Regards.

I once asked a Canadian embassy official about this and she said she had never heard of notarizing passport copies! She said the embassy can ask your ORIGINAL passport any time so notarizing does not make any sense.

I believe all photocopied documents must be notarized prior to submission.....
I did it with all our photocopied passports (mine, spouse and kids)
Even though we differ in location, CIC still has the same rule with regards copies of originals...
For clarity..please read specific instructions from your Local Visa Office Instructions,...
and look into the details of photocopied documents
