Attend Oath Ceremony with Child

Hi,
Me and my wife will attend the ceremony in next week at Scarborough. I’ve four year kid born in Canada. I heard all guests and family members seated separately, not with the applicants.
I would like to know from the members who attended the ceremony, will they allow my child to be with us during Ceremony?

Under the Citizenship Act the applicant under the age of 14 are not required to take the oath but they are welcome to participate in the Canadian Citizenship Oath Ceremony. So you are welcome to take your kids along with you but note that they can sit with you if they are also becoming citizens. Otherwise an adult family member has to accompany them in the guest area. They can't be left alone and there is no child care available.

So I know by book they won’t allow my 4 year son to sit with me because he is not becoming Citizen. But I need to know if anyone have experience to face similar situation in Scarborough. Actually oath timing is odd 430pm on working day and have to go from extreme west end of Mississuaga to Scarborough. Difficult to arrange someone for four hours.

What did you eventually do with you child ? I am in the same position as you and unclear if my little one age 3.5 years (who is Canadian) can sit with me or not.

They allowed my child to sit with me on my lap but they told if any disturbance or crying during ceremony than I've to leave the room. They all are very nice .
