Hi there,
I am sponsoring my husband from England to move to Canada. We applied for family sponsorship while I am here and he is there. We sent in our documents by mail and have now linked the application to our immigration account at www.canada.ca. I have been approved to sponsor and he has gone for his medical and biometrics. We are now at the part where his 17 year old son, that lives with his mother and has not talked to us in 9 months, is refusing to do the medical. We have both reached out numerous times to him and we have both reached out to his mum. She replied to me saying that neither she nor her son see any of the consequences of not doing the medical as actually consequences and has asked us to no longer contact them. We have all the proof and want to write a letter of explanation and attach it all to our application. I just can't figure out how. Is it possible if we applied in paper? Or do we have to wait until the 30 days have gone by and the medical was not done? Has anyone dealt with these situations before? I see a lot of ex's not allowing small children the medical, but are there any teenagers that refuse? Thanks so much!!
