Hello all,

Can someone please clarify the following on CIC's website:
"On June 1, 2014, if you hold a study permit but you have not yet applied for an Off-Campus Work Permit, you are authorized to work off campus without a work permit as long as you meet the eligibility requirements for working off campus."

Questions:
My university will start in sept 14 currently i am in canada can i applyoff campus work permit after 1st june or i have to wait until my university starts

It clearly mentions that "you are authorised to work off campus without a work permit"

y would u need to apply for one then.
 
You'll be able to work once you've started school - not earlier.

In other words, you can't come three months early and work off campus ahead of time.

If you look and what you have quoted again, you will see it says "as long as you meet the eligibility requirements for working off campus". One of those requirements is attending school full time - so if you haven't started school yet you don't qualify to work off campus.

You need to be an active student which you won't be until September 2014 when your session starts. Hence, my opinion is you can't obtain OCWP until september 2014. You need the college letter confirming you are an active student which you then take to Canadian authorities and they issue you SIN number and give you a print out showing your SIN number.
