I applied for ATIP on january 7 till now and i have changed my home address on january 8

today i have seen the address has been changed

so i did the address change after january 7

so the atip was before january 7

so i won't be able to see the address change

so if i order another atip online it might slow the application process right ?

i should wait 30 days again i guess right?

If you send two ATIP requests within 15 days, the department combines them into One and responds.

As far the change of address is concerned, besides changing on CIC website. You may consider responding to ATIP acknowledgement informing that you changed address and request them to make a note of that.

At the same time, you can request the Canada Post to direct your mails from old address to new address for couple of months.

There is really controversial information about how in practice ordering ATIPs are affecting the processing time.
Some say is slows down the processing time.
Some say it speeds up the processing time.

In your case it seems that it is slowing it down.

More likely your ATIP is not been updated for a long time. If your processing agent didn't put any notes than you not going to see any changes. Your situation is more complicated because now your file is transferred to a different location as a local office which means that completely different processing officer must be assigned to continue the work on your file.

Ordering ATIP doesn't give you all the information they got, just a small fraction of it.

To be honest I also think that you have changed your address at the most inappropriate time (before the test) because sometimes they don't like to see difference in the initial mailing address submitted with the application and a completely different one at the time of the interview itself.

But yes common sense is to update your ID address with the new one.

It is much better to stay at the same address, because if you change it before the interview usually they become suspicious at your residency.

No you will not get RQ for that.

It seems that there is some kind of a problem with your background check and this is why your file is stuck for a long time.

Don't compare the PR renewal with the citizenship process. When you apply for citizenship the background check is much deeper.
As a PR you are just a foreigner with the allowance to live here. But at the end you are still a foreigner.
