Hi,
I am just wondering if anyone else had issues with ordering GCMS notes.

I requested them via email back in June for my parents' immigration case (asked for electronic files only, not paper, sent all the forms and $5 fee, always got auto-response emails confirming delivery - so sounds pretty straignt forward).

Anyway, after waiting for 6 weeks I sent an inquiry email asking about the status of my atip request for notes. I got an email back from atip office 2days later saying that they could not find my request (!). They asked me to resend everything (saying they will process in priority), but after i did resend all the forms and receipt scan they emailed me again saying that they still could not find my original request (huh?) and will process it as a new one (i.e. another 30 days wait).

Anyway, it has been almost 2 months since that last email from them (where they said they will put my request in the queue again) and nothing since then. I sent them a couple more inquiry emials recently but never got any replies (ther than immediate auto-confirmations).

I am not sure what to do. Frankly, the urgency of that request passed for me (I got some progress in my parents case so some questions got resolved). I know that i can just try and place another request and pay another $5 (which I will do later, after medicals). But my big concern is if they actually sent something but to the wrong address. I am seriuosly worried that maybe they mailed or emailed the information (which is private essentially and with personal details) to the wrong address. I know a person who asked for emailed notes but got paper in the mail (so mix ups happen).

Is there anythign I can do to find out about what happened to that previous request? Should I mail them the letter instead of an email? (they responded to my email when I first inquired about the original request but this time seem to ignore them :() Is there a fax number that I could use to contact them or is it just mail or email?

You should email them every week until you receive the notes. Once I requested to email me the notes but they sent me a CD (perhaps they were unable to email large file).

Yes, I definitely know that they can chose to do CD if too much data for an email (but a person I know actually got paper instead of electronic file that she requested).

I have sent them 3 emails in the past 3 weeks or so, no reply at all. Interestingly that when I in inquired back in July about my original request they got back to me in 2 days via email but now seems to ignore those completely.

Maybe I should send another email with all the forms attached, i.e. the ones I sent originaly as part of the request (not paying again but attach the same receipt). Maybe that will make any difference and they will read that email :)

I feel they at least should let me know if anything happened to be sent by mail. I have a full right to be concerned in case my and my parents personal info got mailed to some wrong address (I did check the address on the forms and everything is correct there).
