ATIP physical file missing files.

Hi,
Recently I have applyed to get my physical file for my pr application from ATIP. What I got back is only a copy of my application form in 2008. There is no copy of the job offer, salary, or bank statement, nothing.
I also applied for the sponsorship application, but I only got a withdraw request for the physical file. There is even no application form.

What happened to my file?

I'm wondering what have they gone? They have been destroyed or the officer just didn't give me a complete copy of my physical file?

I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. What do you mean ATIP? How did you get a "withdrawal request for the physical file"? Who "gave" you that request?

Are you saying that you requested to have your application sent back to you and they did? When did you request it and how long did it take for them to send something back? I requested that too but I never heard anything.

Oh someone helped me to send several request to get the notes and also the physical files for all my application including my pr and the withdrawn sponsorship application. It took a month. They emailed me back the files, but what's in the physical file is not what I expected.

ATIP=GSCM as far as this forum is concerned. it's the file notes for the application. while the application is submitted, it's always best to get them electronic. after approval, it's ok to request the physical file.

Sorry I'm asking so many questions, this really concerns me because two days ago a guy from the call centre told me that unless they get denied, applications are shred...

the "notes" are an electronic version of how the file is being processed. in the file, visa officers may handwrite notes as it relates to approval. these handwritten remarks most likely do not get related in the electronic version, as it only gives the information that has been electronically entered by the visa office (as far as i understand it.). yes, it's possible to requst the hard copy of these notes and the file, it's just never recommended to do this during processing as it's suggested it will have a negative impact on the file. requsting electronic notes doesn't affect the processing. perhaps the files are shredded, and what is in the physical file is only relatd to the processing, not the actual application.

there's no reason to have concern over this.

What I meant with "concern" was that I'm asking questions because it is related to something I'm interested in, that is, getting my application package back, therefore it concerns me. I'm not worried or anything, thanks for your explanation!

oh. yes, usually when i read the word "concern" on this forum, it's related to being worried. i also understand the other meaning of concern. my apologies.

oh thank you guys I may understand why I only have a copy of my application form when I ask for physical file. The others may got shred (based on your replies)...I was trying to get a copy of all my documents many years ago but it seems impossible now..

You would not be 'privy' to getting the sponsors information unless you are the sponsor anyway. The other documents you are referencing were supporting documents that may or may not have been returned to you. That would depend on whether they were requested at the time of sponsor withdrawal or if they were originals or photocopies.

if you withdraw your file, they send it for shredding....the file that gets you approved gets archived in some location...

Source: Applied under FSW and CEC. FSW went through (stored in archives) and CEC was destroyed by CPP-O.
