Hi do you think i can get a priority scheduling? I applied in April 2024 my problem is my Daughter who has finished high school, gotten admission into the university has been unable to get the study visa which is required for claimants who intend to do tertiary education. I keep feeling her visa isnt approved because of our status (awaiting hearing) as ircc may just want to play safe by not granting her study permit. she is so sad and frustrated which in turn affects me .

If you think we have a good chance to request priority. what are the steps please
You don’t get priority because of the desire to study. The fact that your family appears to have filed an asylum claim years after arriving in Canada may have an impact on the ability to obtain a study permit. Assume you can also prove the savings required to be an international student and complete the degree.

Of course not

You’re in a safe country , that is the priority.

Studying is not a priority. Explain to your daughter that she is now in a safe country and not facing persecution/death threats by returning to home country. So her safety from harm and death takes precedence over studying. Remind her of what she went through in home country about being attacked and wished death upon her. She is young so can wait to study. Once approved she can apply for a study permit.

Or you could just pony up the international fees for tuition!
