Asylum seeker inside Canada

Arrived to Canada on 2013 with work permit (2 year).
Work related academic research and not LMIA support.

After 10 month my research project ended due to not getting enough money (according to employer).
Since 2015 lives under visitor extension, every 6 month renew visitor visa and working as a freelancer remote based with US based clients.

Coming from asia where country full of corruption and violence of human rights.
I have two kids and one is talented on music where awarded few time in competitions.
Wife volunteers as a music tutor at family places, helps kids to learn to play on piano.

Just want to stay safe and secure in Canada, there is not a guarantee when I go back how will be our life. Health and education system ful corruption. For that reason, would like to ask Canada government to provide me protection (I have enough funding to support myself and family). Tried few time to apply through EE but points very low.

Just want to know your opinion.

You can certainly try, but looking at what you have provided for information, it will likely be seen for what it is....a refugee of convinience. Which country did you come from?

From what you've said, you have no chance. To qualify, you need to show that your life is actually at risk if you return to your home country, that you have been threatened, persecuted etc. Corruption within the country and the fact that it is less developed are not valid reasons to claim asylum.

Absolutely agree. You do not present anything close to a compelling refugee case.
It's a very good way to make sure that you are never again granted a temporary resident visa in most developed western countries.

Would suggest you take the express entry eligibility test and forget about the refugee idea because your chances of success is very slim.
