Hi Asvad,
can I apply PR as a single applicant even though I'm Married?
My passport is with Married status and my spouse details were added.
Thanks in advance.
You will have to state that you are married. If you don't declare your marital status truthfully, that is called misrepresentation which can get your application cancelled and you might be be forbidden from entering Canada for at least 5 years.
You can choose to declare your spouse as 'non-accompanying' in your PR application and this
might fetch you additional points but the downside of this strategy is that, if you land the PR, you'll have to opt for the spousal sponsorship route to get your spouse to Canada and that process can take anywhere from 12-24 months as on date and that waiting period can vary in the future.
