Because it is only equivalent to the first 2 years of a university degree. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associate%27s_degree

cant he consider an associate degree as a 2 year bachelor's degree? just like a Diplom from some european countries are considered a bachelors degree.

No.

I would assume that you would select:

"Non-university certificate/diploma"

I believe in Canada that if you stop at an Associates, you finished college, not university. The two are very different to Canada.

My apologies if I'm incorrect. I'm learning much of this myself.

An associate degree is not 'finished college', it is any degree that requires two years of college after high school. 'Finished college' would mean finishing a bachelor degree.

college doesn't have to be bachelors degree

actually you can cross out the bachelor's degree and write associate's degree next to it.
my cousin did it and it worked.

This is what I would have done and you are sure to get 20 points. This is the category you fall in:

"Obtained a university degree of two years or more at the bachelor’s level and completed at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies" - 20Points.

Quick question. By crossing out bachelors, isn't the OP saying that it is not a bachelors degree and hence doesn't qualify for 20 points or am I thinking way too much.

I Guess, it is not a bachelor's degree. But 2 "UNI" years towards a Bachelor's degree.

Also I think Badr777 and LeoNYC either applied with an Associate degree or had a spouse who studied associate degree. The OP could mail them and ask about their application.

I wonder how many points is needed by the OP.

The OP needs to give us a breakdown of his years of study.

By the way, How are you Man? How's the IMMI going? Any news or have u already landed?
