Hi all,

There's a continued debate about the failure of Canadian Employers to recognize our foreign borne skills, vis-a-vis its equivalence parlance to Canadian qualifications. This is leading to immigrants being under utilized and overall causing serious harm to the job market, as well as individual settlement plans. Thus, citizens, as well as PRs, have started questionning the efficacy of the 'occupation based' immigration policy system of CIC.

THE PAN-CANDIAN FAMEWORK:
Now, HRSDC has designed an 'action plan' called the Pan-Canadian Framework, which aims to achieving Canada's economic potential by requiring that immigrants be able to use to the fullest, their skills & experience within the Canadian labour market.

It proposes Government to take concerted action on the "assessment and recognition" of foreign qualifications in order to create an environment where immigrants are able to apply their talents, in the Canadian job market. And play at par.

It seems to be a good effort & a right, plus long-awaited one. Friends may like to 'click the following link' & have a nice read on the issue: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/publications/fcr/pcf_folder/PDF/pcf.pdf

Regards,
Qorax.

let me be the 1st to say Thanks to you for bringing up a reliable source of clarification about the important matter to us.

Thanks qorax....I just read the link you have given and it is nice to know that at last internationally trained immigrants and/or proffessionals at that could already use and apply their skills here if it would be really "implemented".I for one have a hard time completing all the requirements the regulatory bodies are asking 'coz it is too much (not practical) they are asking for things you can't provide so that lessens your chance of getting a license here...but knowing that framework that gives me a little bit of HOPE.......

Do not forget to send the photocopy of your degree certificates or provisional certificates and attested marksheets from Asst controller examination in seales & stamped envelop, if are not present in your transcripts.
this will help you in saving money as you can send all envelops packed in one single envelope.

hope this is useful

Do we have to send for assessment of our foreign qualification before applying for immigration . As per my knowledge this was required after we have reached canada with pr and searching for job .

I dont believe Canadian employers recognize Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan Degrees.

Anyone knows anything more, please enlighten us.

It's not a mandatory requirement as yet. It's purely ur call. As u get into ur meds stage u could get it done, or could do it [first thing] upon landing. It helps u while applying for jobs / further studies.
