Asking for someone else... Income requirement

It's my understanding that for family sponsorship you do not need to meet a minimum income requirement.

Example. Canadian women married to a man from another country (obviously lol) but she has children from a previous marriage. Does she need to meet an income requirement because she has children?

Just curious more than anything. My application was pretty straightforward and we don't have any children so I'm asking on behalf of someone else.

She doesn't need a minimum income to sponsor her spouse. The children are already in Canada, right? If so, they are completely irrelevant.
