Good day all

My family and I ( A wife, a husband and two kids under 6) are having the Syrian Nationality
When the Syrian revolution has started, we moved to KSA to live and work there
we have been in KSA for round 5 years but unfortunately are residency in KSA is going to be canceled in June and cant go back to Syria at all
But fortunately I have a valid US visit visa which will be expired in September
My questions are:
1. Can we ask for Asylum in Canada at the Canadian American borders through RPU Organization but we dont have any close relatives in Canada, all we know there are friends only
2. will they reject my claim if they know that I am coming from KSA and was working and living there?
3. which borders are better to apply my claim as I have no relatives there?
4. Are we going to be helped by the Canadian government?
5. if they accept our claim what will we get then? eg."permanent or temporary residence, Passports, travel documents, work permit, education etc..."

Thanks a lot

Since you don't have immediate family members in Canada, applying for asylum at the Canadian/US border isn't going to be possible due to the Third Safe Country Agreement. If you want to apply for asylum, you'll need to do so in the US.

Thanks for the reply
I asked some people I know about the asylum process in the US they said that I have to apply to TPS program and I can get a temporary residence which can hardly be used for work because it's temporary not permanent and all living expenses is on my own even regarding the accommodation and it might take two years to judge my claim there so for that reason I've cancelled the idea of asylum in the US

Then it sounds like your only other option right now is to return to KSA and try to extend your status there. Good luck.

UNHCR is the main referral organization: http://www.unhcr.ca/

As for private sponsorship groups, this isn't something anyone here can help you with. If you want to be sponsored by a private group, you will have to find this group on your own.

You mentioned previously on another post that you want to come here as a student, are you a real student or a real refugee?

You always put people down specially if they are Pakistani, and it makes sense because you are Indian.
Dear you, you don't have to be poor to be a refugee, thousands of Syrians millionaires are refugees now. Get your mind straight !!

I know someone who has applied for a refugee In Canada and they hold a residency card of one of the Gulf countries . His refugee was accepted. They are not too strict on Syrians now. So if i were you , i would give it a shot . If they rejected you, they will most likely ask you to go back to the states. Some of the united states are easier on Syrian's refugee, new Jersey is one of them.

If you were accepted in Canada, you will be able to work, study, and get some financial help through the provincial government. But don't look up for that. It is never enough, so you need to be productive in the community .

You can always go on facebook and find Syrians community in Canada,or USA .They have stronger experience.

Keep in mind, there are lots of negative people on this forum, and only few accredited people. So keep asking and don't rely on this forum and ALWAYS take risks.
Like you see an immigrant says BS like he/she doesn't want more immigrants loool

Good Luck man :)
