I think this is good news. we have been asked to forward the right of permanent resident fee to the canadian consulate as soon as possible. they called our attorney directly and asked us to do this. does anyone know the next step from here, and what the timetable might be? thanks...t

Well you have been accepted, so it seems all is in order, so if the documents they required has been all submitted completely then it should take about 3-4 months. I am just guessing of course but usually if all is in order it doesn't take long after that.

Was wondering if any of you guys can help me.
Similar position where I have had medical and results came back good and have been asked to pay fee.
Does anyone know whats gonna happen about the fee being reduced?

I dont want to pay $975 then a week later it be reduced and I dont get a refund.

Also, does anyone know if this is positive thing?
Or do they get everyone to pay the fee and take medicals???

Thanks

Well, Harper did say he was going to reduce the landing fee. But, I guess that will have to go through parliament. Harper will start on the 6th of february, who knows if he's going to keep his promise, and if it will happen any time soon.

Well you answered my next question too.
Was wondering when he came into power because he's said it will happen straight away.
I'll hang on a few days and see what happens before i send it.

Cheers

Well, I would do the same thing!

And about you being asked to pay the landing fee. I believe it is a great thing, mostly if your medicals turned out good. Your process is moving and if they already asked the additional documents your Passport request must be very close.

Presumably the request for the fee came from the Canadian High Commission in London. That being the case, you need to remember that you only have 90 days to compy with their request or the close your file.

Just a reminder.

Yeh, im on the case.
Got an up to date Police clearance, so just sort the fee out now.

Should I send my new passport now even though they havent requested it??
I believe they ask for it according to others on the website But if they wanted a copy of my passport again, why wouldnt they have asked for it when they asked for me to pay fee, take medical and get a new Police form???

Don't send your passport until it is requested, you can send photocopies of bio data pages with any other requirement asked for. Dosen't need to be special mailing.

Proof of funds

Hi,
Can I show my real estate and other assets also as proof of funds. Just wanted to know if they really wanted liquid investments only or overall net worth assessment for fsw.
