I did not get an RQ so can't answer questions about that but anything to do with the process please feel free to ask away.

I have my Oath next week after taking my test Feb 21, in Calgary, and sent in the application originally June/2012.

I had lots of missing stamps in my passport and my wife did not show on CBSA for a trip but interview was not a problem.

Good luck to everyone else.

Keep your jersey for Canada Day! Besides you can always wear the jersey anytime. That will be your long awaited big day. How about that Tux you've been keeping in your closet all these days? ;)

Congratulations guys!

Def a nice crisp suit. I was watching some of the ceremonies on you tube and everyone was wearing suits.

Congratulations to you too!

During your test interview, was there any problem if you are currently unemployed/self-employed? I had a full time job for the period I showed on application and have been working on contracts after I applied for citizenship (though I didnt intend the timing of when to start the contracting, it kind of happened by itself). I am not in any social assistance programs and my intermittent idle period between jobs is not a financial problem for me or my family thankfully. Will it still raise eye-brows? I assume employment questions are being asked during the testing interviews?

if i may answer, the biggest question is your ties to canada. issues like unemployment, trips, etc only come up in regard to that particular question. it really helps if you have solid ties to canada like a spouse who is citizen or pr, if you have applied pr for your spouse (if neither), any kids born here, any property, etc. they ask employment or trip questions to verify if you are inclined to leave canada and go back whether for financial, family or personal reasons.

The employmenty question was the only question raised and I had not had a chnage of employment though my wife had and she explained this.

I think Chakrab asnwered it very well and that is regarding the ties and unusal travel habits ie/living in another coutnry whilst waiting. Be honest with them and dont worry.
