Hi Seniors
I have a confusion regarding EE profile for Work Experience

I worked for employer A for 8 months
work hours per month were

1st Month; 65 hours/month
2nd :40/month
3rd : 30/month
4th: 29/month
5th: 72/month
and 6th to 8th more then 30 hours per week( Full Time

so my question is

how should i write it in my EE profile ?
and how would i write it post ITA under work history ?

Note: I have more then 13 months of full time experience with my current employer, But i want to include work experience from previous employer as well.

Hi,
If you are applying for FSW and have only worked for 8 months in calendar time, that wouldn't fulfill the 1 year work requirement (no matter how many hours you have worked).
Note that the physical time period of 1 year =365 days must have passed before you can claim points for that.

Please see excerpt below from CIC:
"Your experience must be at least 12 months of full-time (30 hours of paid work per week or more) or an equal amount in part-time hours.

Full Time

30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Part time

15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
OR
OR
30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)"

Hi Velveteen
Thanks for the answer
Actually I am CEC, and I do have more then 13 months of Full time experience with my current employer.
But my concern is about my work experience with my previous employer.

Suggest that you list the part-time and full-time work periods as separate positions, that would be the easiest. (For the letter of reference, your employer could discuss both in a single letter... )

For part-time work, you add up the hours and divide by 30 to get the Full-time equivalent (FTE) . Your part-time work totals 236 hours / 30 =7.9 weeks. Round down - # of complete weeks is 7.

For listing the # of hours worked per week for the part-time position, you can use an average. Guestimating the # of weeks to be 21, you worked an average of 11 hours per week, but you should calculate that yourself using the actual # of weeks. If you get an ITA, this is one of those cases where it would be a good idea to include paystubs and/or the Record of Employment in your employment docs.

But velveteen is right - it doesn't sound like it's enough to bump you up to 2 years of Canadian experience, so it might not be work the effort.

Thanks for the answer Jes_ON

But i do not understand why the 2 year thing matters ( cec eligibility criteria is 12 months of full time work experience)
i am cec
more that 13 months of experience with current employer
i have a PNP
and then that work experience from past employer( Of which at least 3 months are full time)
so i have more then 16 months of full time experience

M i missing out something ?

Hi Frnds,

How much we need to fill in hours worked per week in personal history section, 40 or 45 ?

In India, most of the company follows 45 hours/week. Please suggest

You stated you already had more than 13 months of experience with your current employer, and you just wanted to add this experience... for what purpose? As you are aware, it doesn't affect your eligibility...

I had assumed you wanted to include it to increase CRS points on the EOI (you didn't mention the PNP in the initial post) - but CIC doesn't award points for partial years. If you had two complete years, you'd get more points.

and then that work experience from past employer( Of which at least 3 months are full time)

Guess I'm missing something : ) There's nothing wrong with including it if you want.

Thanks once again for the reply jes_ON
yes, now that 2 year thing makes sense. and that's a good point. Thanks for pointing that out.
so i guess maybe i can just leave that previous work experience, because it wont get me any points and it will just increase my paper work.
and i am eligible and have enough points for an ITA without that previous experience anyways.
sounds good

Thanks once again Jes_ON :)
