Hey Folks,

I had to leave Canada for a personal matter back home, I still hold a valid SP. Can I come back to Canada now?

please help me.

thanks

assuming your sp was approved before march 18th, you can indeed travel to Canada if there are flights operating to canada from your home country.

My original study permit was approved back in 2018 and the extension was approved a few days ago but I do have the paper with me. This counts as approved after March 18 after all?

that I am not sure of unfortunately but since you originally held a sp before march 18th, i reckon you're exempt from the travel exemption. but you should contact ircc to know better. to get them to reply you immediately tweet them your question on their twitter verified page. they reply there within 24 hours.

Better to contact CBSA as they regulate border entries. If you have no classes in the immediate future, CBSA may decide your travel is non essential and refuse you entry.
