As of June 14, 2023 you need to give your biometrics, even if you gave them in the last 10 years.

Hi, I applied for outland spousal sponsorship for my wife (nationality: Indian) on July 10, 2023. I did not pay for biometrics as she already did her biometrics a couple years back (still valid for temporary residence applications). Apparently, as of June 14, 2023 you need to give your biometrics for permanent residence applications, even if you gave them in the last 10 years. Should I pay for biometrics and send payment receipt and LOE as soon as I get AOR or should I wait for IRCC request letter.

TIA

I have not seen that announcement (but would make sense in one respect, this was a temporary policy only). Personally I'd say just pay for biometrics and send receipt by webform, it's not that much money and to avoid delays. If it ends up not being needed, IRCC is usually good about returning any overpaid funds.

Thanks for advice. Would IRCC be able to attach receipt with my application with only UCI number because I have not received AOR yet.
