As a sponsor, should I update the application about change in marital status?

I applied for my parents family class sponsorship in June 2019. The application is at "Medical passed" stage since September 2020 and we have not received any further communication since then. But on ECAS, status is "Decision Made" for both the Sponsor and Applicant profiles. In the meantime, I got married late last year back in my home country.

My dilemna is should I update IRCC about the change in marital status while the application already seems to be its last stages. I am scared the update would cause more delays in an already delayed process.
Note that I have filed 2021 taxes as joint application with my spouse and income should not be an issue with regards to eligibility. What are you thoughts?

Since your parents haven't landed yet, it would be an issue if you and your spouse do not meet the income level for 2021.

I see. We do meet the criteria of 2021. Does IRCC do another eligibility review in the year of landing?
I suppose you are suggesting I should report he change in marital status and let them reconfirm I am still eligible.

You don’t have an option you have to notify IRCC that you got married especially since you got married last year so have already delayed reporting your change in family.

It's very clear that you need to update IRCC.

Hi friends, I learned today that the Delhi office had sent a passport request to my mother's (principal applicant) email on Nov 2020!
I am the application representative and sponsor. As representative, all past communication about the application like medical PCC, biometrics request came to my email. Therefore, I kept waiting for request for passport on my email. No update was made on myCIC account. I also submitted enquiries regarding application delay about which I got the generic "we are working on it" reply.

I will inform the visa office of this immediately, but any idea what will happen to our application now? I am extremely scared that we will be refused an extension.

Hard to say - this was November 2020? They might well have decided the application is abandoned.

If not, they will likely ask for medical, probably updated police certificate, and possibly updated personal forms.

The status in myCIC online account shows In Progress, thus I am hoping the application is not being considered abandoned.
As mentioned here, I hope that the IRCC considers it fair that as application representative, I should have received the email for passport request.
I have submitted a webform request explaining the situation, let's see what they say.

Of course you hope that, I hope so too. But we can't tell you.

Personally I would submit the passport ASAP. Possibly with a short explanation.
