Arranged Employment vs CEC?

I've seen a few other posts on this question, but I need some help with my specific situation.

I am a US citizen. I have lived in Canada since 2007, first under a student visa and now under a post-graduate visa. After being in my job for 16 months, I now qualify for CEC, and I have a full-time permanent job. My post-graduate permit expires in Mar 2013.

My question is, should I apply for Skilled Worker under arranged employment or CEC? I have taken the CELPIP, but it would take me at least a month to arrange to take the IELTS. My concern is that my post-graduate permit will expire before my application is processed, so I'm reluctant to wait to take the IELTS if applying as a skilled worker would get me approved sooner.

Any thoughts/suggestions/comments are appreciated.

Why don't you simultaneously apply for extension of work permit and the CEC.

Couldnt I also apply under Skilled Worker with arranged employment and use my current CELPIP test results?

Part of the question is whether the "fast track" skilled worker application is faster than the CEC, especially if I can't write the exam for another month or more.

Anybody have any idea for processing times for skilled worker/arranged employment vs CEC?

As I understand it, there is no extension for the post graduate work permit.

I'd suggest CEC over Skilled worker. Judging from the CEC forums those guys have been getting their VISA's in as little as 6months. personally i'm FSW2 and planning to apply again under CEC when I become eligible later this year. My VO is Buffalo which is SLOW
