I just found out that I might be eligible for this, but there are many contradictory aspects written in the CIC description of eligibility.
Does anyone have a clue about this? .

"You currently work in Canada on a temporary work permit, and:
your work permit is valid both when you apply and when the visa is issued (or you are authorized to work in Canada when your visa is issued), and CIC issued your work permit based on a positive labour market opinion (LMO) from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), and you are working for an employer named on your work permit who has made a permanent job offer based on you being accepted as a federal skilled worker." Sorry not to supply the link - they have revised the website and made it more difficult to copy the page link.
Question: What does the underlined mean? Doe it mean that you have to apply ages before your Visa/current work permit expires in order to have an "active" Visa by the time they process? My WP is valid now, until Jan 31 - one lawyer said I would be eligible for a bridge WP and another said I would not! Thanks much if anyone chimes in. delphinium

The underlined is only needed for the last stage of your visa when they will issue you your CoPR.

Bridge WP you will only be eligible if your file for Federal Skilled Worker gets approved by CIO Sydney.

I think that it means that you must have legal status as a worker when you apply AND you must keep that legal status all the time up until the visa is issued.

THANKS! I have asked my MP to check into this. There is also the question of Implied Status - does it apply or not in this situation. Also on the website here (where I discovered this status) there is conflicting info about whether or not one has to have a new LMO application in process in order to apply in the FSW already working in Canada category. Anyone know? I cannot find it on the new CIC website.
Hope I can start to help soon, instead of only asking questions.
