Hi Folks,

A condition under Arranged Employment for LMIA exempt worker is having experience of at least an year -
  • if you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
    • are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit
    • have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer
    • have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa
Can that experience be from outside Canada or does it have to be exclusively inside Canada?

Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light onto this.

Has to be exclusively in Canada.

Hi scylla,
Thanks for your response. So in this case Arranged Employment and Canadian Experienced Class will become the same, right?

Sorry - I don't understand what you mean by that.

If you mean that you have to work in Canada for a full year before you can claim the points, then yes.

Thanks. I meant that if I stay for a full year in Canada, I can avail points for 1 year Canada experience too. That will be around 30 I believe. Arranged Employment for LMIA exempt too will only be applicable after a year. So after 1 year I can get 50 + 30 = 80 points.

Is there any other way to get the 50 points for Arranged Employment before 1 year?

If you want to qualify for the 50 points for arrangement employment before 1 year, your employer in Canada must obtain an approved LMIA. That's the only way.
