Are UCI really unique?

So I have noticed that I have been assigned at least 3 UCIs in the past. One for when I was applying for a student permit, the other two for Express Entry applications (one of which was cancelled). Is that normal?

I ask because I am looking for a way to identify myself in the letter of explanation I am submitting as part of my Express Entry application.

Depend on what type of UCI you have. If it is 8-10 digits only, then it will be part of your life. I mean, It will be your PR number later on.

So I take that as UCIs are not unique.

My UCI for the student permit is 8-10 numbers long, so that would be my true unique UCI? The others are longer and start with 3 letters.

One more question, can they identify me with any of those? I realised I submitted the letter with one of the longer UCIs.

The ones with the 3 letters are not the real UCI numbers. They are a garbage value assigned by the system to the EE profile in some cases.

Yes the UCI in your study permit is genuine one. The others are just temporary. I don't know how their system work in the back end. But I'm very doubt that they will be able to find your profile without providing the genuine UCI.
