Due to an unexpected delay, I JUST sent my American husband's application out recently, joy joy! ;D We're doing the Outland process. The ''wedding reception we never had'' (haha) is scheduled for October 6th of this year. I've heard we should play it safe by aquiring him a temporary Visa to enter the country at that time? Do I go through the agent assigned to our case to do so?

Also, is it realistic to plan for "the honeymoon'' we never had the following month after our reception. Or are there restrictions to travel during the time his application processes? We're hoping to travel from Canada to the UK & Europe, if it means anything.

Thanks for your time. Best wishes to fellow sponsors & applicants! :)

So long as you both have valid passports in your possession, there are no restrictions to travel. However certain embassies (Manila for example) request the passport immediately at the start of processing and hold on to it for 4 - 10 months or longer until the visa is issued.... thus preventing the applicant from traveling outside their own country.

I suspect this isn't the practice for U.S.-based applications... so you should be fine to travel.

You are fine to travel :)

US citizens just need to photocopy their passport for their PPR :)

he also doesn't need a visa to enter canada since he is from the US. he can just home to the border at the time of the party, just make sure he shows proof that he will return to the states and not stay here.
