Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
This is an informative thread, thank you contributors.

I would like to know the IT job situation in Canada, especially for SAP skills and particularly in provinces that provide a PNP without job offer, namely Nova Scotia, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. I know these are not bigger provinces like Ontario, BC and Alberta but such bigger ones are difficult to get a PNP?

Based on whatever I've read in the thread till now, it looks jobs are not as easy to get in Canada as in US. My US friends seem to be merrily job hopping and choosing places based on weather and other parameters. A prolonged under or unemployment will take a toll on both financial and mental health - kudos to guys that are persisting and roughing it out! You are an inspiration to the rest of aspirants such as me.

Yep.. I don't know why lots of people have been telling me the same thing.. more opportunity in the US for now. Even a friend of mine who used to work in the states and now in Canada told me the same.. he told me if he lost his current job, he would definitely go back to US to find a new one..

There are pros and cons of US vs Canada. Importance of those varies between people. However, numbers of jobs is not one of them.

US has far bigger population, industries and pretty much BIGGER ANY THING. So of course number of jobs there has no comparison.

Yes Canada is smaller in population and has fewer jobs, though US would have more applicants too.

The lowest income or average income of Canadians though as reported in stats, is higher than the corresponding ones from US. And of course there are no guns or as many racism concerns in Canada relatively.

And to rub just a little salt in the wound.. More and more people lost their job in energy Sector especially in cities like Calgary, and all of them are competing in the market now to find a new job. I issued several ROEs recently and service Canada has been contacting to double check the reason of dismissal. i tellya man... it is really hard even just to let them know they are being let go in this economic situation. Every time I do that, I truly wish they get something new as soon as possible. I know how hard it is out there especially if your network is really limited..

Most of my friends lost their jobs in Alberta due to oil crisis and jobless for more than a year. Some people left Canada.
