I have not received a single job matching email so far. its been more than 4 months since i created my profile both in the Job Bank and Service Canada as well.

What are the alternatives for us prospective immigrants to search and apply for jobs in Canada? Please help!!!

Just curious: what type of occupation are you seeking?

I posted a similar question on this forum yesterday:
Hi all. I'm new to this forum. And it looks like I will qualify under the FSWP.

Ok. So after you create the express entry profile, CIC says:

You will get a personal reference code to use to register in Job Bank.
If you do not have a job offer or a nomination from a province or territory you must register for Job Bank to be eligible for the pool.

Looking at the Job Bank (I do not yet have a personal ref code), I noticed that there are no special sections or links to employers willing to do an LMIA. This is a little disappointing, given how much I know already about Canadian employers' attitudes towards LMIAs. The outlook isn't great. Indeed, I have spent the past two months in Canada on a tourist visa, and was even offered a position with a company in Edmonton... that was before they realized how difficult the LMIA process actually is.

So I'm looking at the CIC website again the other day. And the CIC website makes it sound as though you register with Job Bank, apply for jobs, and it's easier than ever before to link qualified candidates to employment.

More from the CIC website:

Job Bank is an easy, online search tool that will help you get matched with jobs in Canada based on your skills, knowledge and experience.

The Government of Canada's new and improved Job Bank helps connect Express Entry candidates with Canadian employers, making economic integration faster once immigrants arrive in Canada.

Canadian employers have a greater and more direct role in economic immigration. Candidates in the Express Entry pool have the opportunity to increase their chances of being invited to apply by promoting themselves directly to employers.

Now here's my question. Have any of you guys had any success finding work through Job Bank, or are the quotes I've mentioned above just a lot of empty talk? I realize there are no guarantees. Just wondering what your opinions are regarding Job Bank as an effective way into employment / raising your CRS points (I have about 400 points right now) / finally getting the Invitation.

Thanks to all for reading / replying!

i can safely assume you have about 10% chance of getting a job in job bank. so yeah, empty talk.

An overseas friend applied to a number of postings found on Jobbank. Had one request for an "in person" interview. He contacted the employer to explain he was not in Canada and the interview was cancelled. The employer said he could get a local applicant and was unable to get an LMIA, but at least this shows that JB can work once you are living in Canada. I don't know if there is any progress on job matching though.

The job bank scenes are quite different. Its actually meant to support Canadian employers than job seekers. For example - if a certain Canadian employer has not been able to fill in a certain special position and has exhausted all the possible options of obtaining one resource in Canada, will peep into Job Bank as a last resort to check if there are some profiles who can be taken onboard.

Bottom line - register with job bank with correct and accurate detail and chill. :D

JOB BANK IS A GOOD JOKE FOR APPLICANTS OUTSIDE CANADA. I NEVER SEEN ANYONE TILL NOW WHO GOT ACTUAL JOB OFFER WITH THE HELP OF JOB BANK.
