Varies from country to country on what kind of tax documents are required. Some required tax files, some requires tax certificate only.

Well, Tax Documents of the Sponsor always "Strengthen" your case. Ofcourse if the financials are good.

I meant Tax documents of the student if he has worked in home country (in my case India)

They are required in general category only not in spp in india

Like I have said before, TAX documents are country-wise requirement and that is only mentioned in the country's specific checklist. I don't know which country you are from but just in case, if you are from india, refer to this checklist:

Like in the general checklist (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5483e.pdf), it is mentioned that "Any additional documents required by the responsible visa office".
