Are LMOs still available in AB?

Hello,

I have a few employers in AB who would like to hire me but they said they can't get LMOs since HRSDC stopped issuing them.
They said it's seems to be extremely hard to get them, even if the employer otherwise qualify for the requirements.
It's probably true, since I was told the same by several employers.
My questions are:
Can they limit the number of LMOs?
Does anyone knows the last known time limits to issue LMOs in AB?
Does anyone knows what's going on?

Well if the employers really want to hire you they can apply for LMO after advertising for the position and showing that no Canadian citizen or PR applied or qualified. Advertising is free and LMO application is free; they only have to put in a few minutes or hours if they're not tech savvy, to do the process

Thank you for your response.
They claim that they are advertising the positions for months now so I don't know what's going on. I guess - just like you said - they don't put enough effort into it.
Well, I have a job in a very sunny and warm place now, the only downside is my daughter's educations (even in an expensive private school) is pretty bad here. I hoped with an LMO and a job offer we could get it finalized our PR process sooner and I can put her in a Canadian school.
I guess I'll wait until our PR in SL category process finalized - which is going on for 48 months now.
