Are distance education Pg diploma degrees accepted by WES?

Hi Team,

I’m from India and I’m an active express entry candidate, that being said, my WES and IELTs are all done and my current crs score is 435. I’m currently pursuing Post graduate diploma in computer applications, a distance education one year course in Madurai Kamaraj university.

Has anyone got their PG diploma distance education degree from MKUDDE accepted by WES? If yes, I’d highly appreciate on any insight on the same here.

Additionally, i do understand that WES accepts regular/distance education degrees from UGC approved universities. I also checked that MKU is available in the list of universities while we create our credentials. My real concern is, MKUDDE/MKU are both the same and is the distance education Pg diploma can be uploaded in WES by selecting MKU?

If your university is in WES list, then no need to worry.

That’s great then. I’m doing my course in Madurai Kamaraj University, Directorate of Distance Education. But WES has only Madurai Kamaraj University in the list. So do you think it’s still accepted? I can select the main university and submit my documents?

If you don’t mind, I would like to confirm one last thing. So basically I’m doing this pg diploma in a hope that I can select “two or more degrees/diploma, of which either one should be a 3 or more years program”. This option gives me more CRS points on the education stand point. So this PG diploma course is considered in this category right? I already have my WES done for my engineering degree.

Hi Pratiksha,
Did you get your WES done for MKUDDE, what was the outcome. Actually i am also doing PG Diploma in Management from MKUDDE and it seems they are not recognized by body of UGC which is called DEB (Distance Education Bureau). I am worried about my WES now as i have spent 1 year to pursue it and also paid the fee. Did anyone on this forum has got his WES cleared for Diploma course from MKUDDE??

Okay. Here is the good news to all of you. WES evaluates your PG Diploma from MKU DDE. The equivalency will be 1 year canadian degree.

And yes, you can use this as two or more degree in education to increase your point. The only thing to be careful is that if your primary degree is a three year one, I would advice you to do WES for that first and then for this. At the end, you will have WES report which shows you that you have 2 degrees.
