How long does the test invite email take when an update occurs on the tracker? June 30 got an update for citizenship test, but since then did not receive the email invite! Looked in junk, no sign of it.
I got my email 4 days after the update on tracker. I would not worry . Keep checking your inbox and junk.

Hello all, I am really bad with years and names.. I am finding it difficult to memorize all the names and years in the Canada History section.. Is there any easier way to tackle this?

Family members did combination of some reading of the booklet and practice tests. In my opinion, the ones who read the booklet and then practice tests did far better (the other one sort-of read the booklet).

Dates and to a lesser degree names: they mostly aren't trying to trip you up. Dates on a multiple choice will generally be grouped - two completely ridiculous answers, one that might kind-of be plausible if you were confused between two topics, and one that's obviously right.

In other words: they won't ask 'what year did Nunavut become a territory' with answers 1997,1998,1999, 2002. It will offer eg 1868, 1905, 1999, and 2017 - so if you're aware that Nunavut was created 'recently but not yesterday', it's easy.

Names are a little trickier but somewhat similar - and they don't usually ask about really obscure people. Logical groupings and knowledge of the overall history is more important than memorizing a bunch of facts and dates.

Again, they're really not trying to trick you. With a good read and a little bit of practice, you'll probably get above 15 (the min required) on the first try. Typically there are 2-3 more difficult/obscure tests out of the 20, on a bad day, you might not pass the first time.

Those with worse English may have a bit more difficulty though. Make sure to use practice tests that correctly identify your province, i.e. the test is different in Ontario than in BC.
Please make sure to read the 40-50 pages of the book atleast once. Member named Klubsoda had recommended few online free practice tests, you can search them in this thread and refer them. History wise significant names (nation builders, first PM of Canada etc.), Scientists , Athlete names-definitely keep in memory , arts/culture (they were so many, very difficult to remember some of the french names and first nation artists)- not so much (it would be good, if you could memorise) ...I did not bother remembering exact dates but year of historical significance. Worked ok for me. Other members can suggest as well.
Thanks to both of you for your help.. I was over-complicating the test.. It was not that difficult.. As long as one had read Discover Canada and completed the practice test available online.. they will be okay.. I scored 20 out of 20.. :)

That's strange. For me, it happened the other way around. I received the test invitation email a couple of days before it was updated on the tracker. May be wait 1-2 days. You should receive one soon...

Please check another member Armoured's response in this thread, the question composition for citizenship has been very clearly explained in their response. It is good to go through some free online practice tests specific to province you currently reside in (For free practice test links, check out klubsoda's response in this thread). Don't worry much about exact dates and full name etc. You can do it!! :)

If you are studying online, try writing the answers by hand on paper, always easier to memorize things if you write them down a few times.

I think It is normal... I've seen some cases where it took more than a week.. I hope yours will be updated this week...
